Larry W Waters, 78, passed away on Friday, October 12th. May he ride in green pastures with his faithful companions Tootie, Possum and Bullet.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie (Sullins); son “Chris” Thomas Christopher Waters II (Belinda) of Goliad; daughter Kim Waters Byrd (Jim) of El Dorado, Arkansas; daughter Rachal Waters Davis (John) of Bentonville, Arkansas; six grandchildren – John Raab (Michelle) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; Jennifer Gee (Corey) of Weatherford, Texas; Leeann Wenske (Dustin) of Goliad; Thomas Christopher Waters III(Carly) of Goliad; and Cameron & Katie Beth Davis of Bentonville, Arkansas; and nine great-grandchildren – Brianna, Emma, Robbie, Anna, Ava, Carrigan, Macrae, Colleen and Casen. He is also survived by his sisters Mary McLauclin of Beaumont, Texas and Judy Sunderland of Osterville, Massachusetts; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Woodval and Dorothy Waters.
He was born in Prescott, Arkansas on May 3, 1940; spent many hours in the ‘woods’ and at the ‘Waters Store’, graduated from El Dorado High School in 1959 and moved to Texas in 1966. He spent his working career in the chemical, oil & gas industries until he retired. He then devoted his full attention to his beloved horses and dogs. Horses were his passion and there was always at least one and often a dozen or more in his care. Stories about horse races, hunting, fishing and interesting people were part of daily conversation. Larry was a member of Masonic Union Lodge No. 750, F&AM of El Dorado, Arkansas for more than fifty years.
Visitation will be Monday, October 15, 2018, Grace Funeral Home Chapel in Goliad from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018, Glendale Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with David Parks officiating; followed by a Masonic Memorial Service.
Pall bearers: Chris Waters, Christopher Waters, John Raab, Dustin Wenske, Jeff Harper, Todd Harper Charlie White and Jerry Irwin. Honorary pall bearers: Brewn Martin, Kevin Martin, Wayne Russell, Mike Brown, Billy Hammond, Mickey Pillow, Johnnie Raab, Jack Ballinger, Harvey Rampley, Blaine Sullins and Shane Sullins.
