Obituary

Edward Calderone returned to The Lord on June 18, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Rosa Lea Johnson Calderone along with his Aunt Marguerite Johnson, Uncle Gus Johnson and Great Grandson Logan Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife Ophelia Mae Calderone. His children Jennifer Calderone, Brenda Garrett, Kimberly Garrett, Joshua Garrett, Christopher Garrett, Mona Renee Calderone Ayres (Spouse: Christopher Aryes), Jeffery O. Calderone, Jody Jackson, Rob Gilbert (Spouse: Kit Gilbert).

He was grandfather to Kobe and Kaden Calderone. Lauren, Faith and Sarah Aryes. Jonathan (Spouse: Stephanie) and Travis (Spouse: Chelsea) Gilbert. Samantha (Spouse: Clint) Gilbert-Netterville.

Edward Calderone was an active contributor to our communities. He served our country in the US Navy for over 11 years, and was the President of the Pettus FFA Volunteer Organization and had a passion for professional bass fishing which lead him to serve several years as the president of the Texas Association of Bass Clubs. Ed loved his family and friends dearly, never one to turn away a conversation; he was friendly and open to everyone he encountered. He spent many years working as a Safety Consultant and Manager with more certifications and achievements than we could possibly list. Ed was a man that knew love better than most, he was kind, accepting and never afraid to tell you exactly how he felt. He wore his heart on his sleeve and while he was incredibly proud of all the work he had accomplished in life, he was proudest of the friendships and stories he shared with so many of us.

And here are a few words from Ed to his wife, Ophelia: "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I don't care if Tom Cruise said it first and how cheesy it sounds - You Still Complete Me".

Ed did all our Safety Training, for many years. He worked with our company, LGH, Inc.; assisting us in maintaining an excellent safety rating. While training our staff, Ed taught as if he was on a mission; we all came to know him as a kind, gentle, and intelligent man. We will miss him, and are so sorry for your loss.
