Obituary

On July 11, 2019, Estella (Stella) Louise Johnson, age 71, loving wife, mother, and grandmother was called home to be with her heavenly father.

She was born on July 9, 1948 in Cuero to the late J.C. and Vera Lee Ridyolph. Stella married her best friend and the love of her life, Elvin Johnson, Sr. on December 13, 1963. She worked for many years as a caretaker at Anna Guest House where she loved taking care of the elderly. Stella was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family as it was very important to her.

Stella is survived by her husband of 55 years; daughter Resia Leggett (Brian) of Cuero; two sons: Elvin (Kojak) Johnson (Lisa), and Kragan Johnson (Megan) of Cuero; sisters Veola Ingram of Las Vegas and Annie Thompson of Corpus Christi; three brothers: Clarence Ridyolph of Cuero, Rufus Ridyolph of Victoria, and Melvin Patton of Houston.

Stella is preceded in death by her parents; her two sons: Kelvin and Michael Johnson, Sr.; three brothers: John and Elmo Ridyolph and Haywood Washington; and two sisters: Theresa Jackson and Carolyn Ridyolph.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Cuero with Rev. Terry Glover, officiant; and Rev. Marcellus Wesley, Eulogist. Interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Cuero.

Our deepest condolences to the family. Whenever I was in Cuero and I would see Stella she was a ray of sunshine as I remember from many years ago as my neighbor/mom. Heaven has gain a glorious angel to watch over her family. Much love always.
