My memory of Ms Glenda was happy memories since the day I met her in 2013 when her husband Victor was alive. We became very close from the moment we had met. Both Vic and her reminded me so much of my Great-Aunt Della and Great-Uncle Thomas Lira whom I loss in 2010. We stayed in contact on a daily basis and she was always able to know how to reach me when she needed to reach me at any given time. We sort of adopted each other as family. I called her my Aunt and well she would always call me her daughter. Most of all we were friends. I remember driving her all the way to Arkansas to see her Aunt Pauline whom she had wanted and had wished to have seen. That was her wish and I wanted to honor her that wish so I had surprised her and had taken her. After that trip she had asked me when was the next trip was going to be and so the next trip we went to Killeen to go see my daughter. She always loved our visits together. God blessed me to be a part of her life as her to be part of mine. I will always treasure the friendship we had and the respect we had for each other. She survived Hurricane Harvey and the weeks that came after that....the recovery period. She was a strong willed woman who was always nice and willing to chat. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and the friends who knew her.
