Kim (Janecek) Reeves, age 52, passed away on Sunday, May 5th, 2019. She was born in Yoakum, Texas August 13, 1966 to Gilbert and Benita (Janik) Janecek and was the youngest of 7 children. She was raised in Yoakum attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Yoakum High School. After graduating from The University of Texas in 1987, she was employed by Underwriting Services of Alabama for 18 years before moving with her husband, Ricky, and their 1 year old daughter, Anna, to Victoria, TX in 2005 because Kim wanted to be closer to her family. In 2006, she was employed by Bluebonnet Youth Ranch and has served as Executive Director until the present time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Annette O’Shea, brother, Clint Janecek and niece, Rachel Janecek.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ricky Reeves; daughter, Anna Reeves of Yoakum; stepson, Preston (Julie) Reeves of Southern Pines, NC; stepdaughter, Kristi (Chris) Tolen of Macon, GA; and 5 grandchildren, Joseph Reeves of Atlanta, GA, Savannah Robinson, Olivia Reeves and David Reeves of Southern Pines, NC, Abigail Tolen of Macon, GA. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Tim (Terry) Janecek and Dave (Leah) Janecek; sisters, Barb (Joe) Chrastecky, Patty (Vic) Berger; brother-in-law, Mike O’Shea, all of Texas; sister-in law, Sandee Janecek of Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law Randy (Pam) Reeves of LaGrange, GA; numerous nieces and nephews who always showed the utmost respect and adoration for their Aunt Kim and were at her side and ready to help during her 13 year battle with cancer.
She is also survived by the children she fostered in Birmingham, AL and the hundreds of children from Bluebonnet Youth Ranch who affectionately called her Miss Kim. She took them to the Reeves home for the weekends, took them school clothes shopping, counseled them, loved them and comforted them. According to the children “Miss Kim gave the best hugs”. She has left a legacy behind at Bluebonnet Youth Ranch and her vision will live on for many children to come.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Yoakum, TX from 5 to 7 pm with the Rosary following. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, May 11th at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Yoakum officiated by the Rev. Msgr. John Peters.
