Laura Lorene Lassig Doolittle, age 91, born on August 13, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly Gladys and Anton Lassig; her 5 siblings; her beloved husband of 56 years, Charles Spencer Doolittle; daughter, Laura Bryant; son-in-law, Glenn Crisp; and granddaughter, Rebecca Grunewald.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Crisp of Lolita, Cathy Lott (Freeman) of Goliad, Carolyn Sullivan (Dodson) of Beeville; 10 grandchildren, Glenn Crisp, Justin Crisp, Charlene Crabtree, Lisa Lott, Allison Grabow, Daniel Sullivan, Sean Sullivan, Erin Randig, Christine Campbell, James Grunewald and 19 great-grandchildren.

Laura was a loving wife, mother and after many years as a homemaker, she graduated from San Antonio College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She was a proud employee of the San Antonio Tuberculosis Hospital. After moving to the Stratton community outside Cuero, Laura was employed by the Yoakum Hospital and later became the night supervisor at the Cuero Community Hospital until her retirement.

A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lolita with burial immediately following at Red Bluff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yorktown Nursing Home and Rehab Activity Fund or donor’s choice.
