Obituary

Lester Willie Holub, 80, passed away on Monday, October 28th, 2019. Lester's family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at 10am at Bayside Community Church, 25080 State Highway 172 in Olivia, Texas.

Lester was born June 11th, 1939 in Fort Bend County, Texas to the late William and Alma Holub. On November 23rd, 1977, he married Joyce Gibson. Lester was an auto mechanic by trade. He could pretty much fix anything on wheels. He loved fishing every weekend in Port O' Connor. He didn't care what the weather was like; he was gonna fish either way. He began working with wood by making wagons and entering them into the county fair. Everything he entered into the fair was made by hand, right down to the wheels on the wagons. He was ecstatic when he won 1st place. He would often be found at craft shows with his wife, Joyce. He also liked to garden and was a volunteer firefighter for the Olivia/Port Alto Fire Department. He was a loving and gentle man. Lester and Joyce had a wonderful marriage together. They were always together and rarely left each other's side. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed.

Lester is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Holub; his daughter, Sandra Wusterhausen (Stewart) of Rosenburg; his step-daughter, Anna Lawler (Bob) of Port Lavaca; his step-sons, Ray Hundl (Denise) of Missouri City; James Hundl of Rosenburg and Eugene Hundl of Orchard; his grandchildren, Korie Garza, Gabriel Garza, Angela Hundl, Jennifer St. Romain (Jonathan), Susan De La Garza, Jason Pahmiyer, Payton Hundl, and James W. Hundl; his great-grandchildren, Trent and Gavin De La Garza; along with numerous other family and friends.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Holub; his daughter, Regina Holub; his son, Lester Steven Holub and step-son, Kenneth Hundl; his brother, Larry Holub; and his daughter-in-law, Phyllis Hundl.

Those wishing to make memorial donations in Lester's memory are requested to do so to the Bayside Community Church Building Fund.
