Lucindo Garcia Escobar, Sr., 83 of Victoria, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 9th, 2019. Family and friends will gather for visitation Friday, October 11th from 6pm to 8pm at Grace Funeral Chapel, 1604 W. Austin Ave. in Port Lavaca, rosary to be recited at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Tommy Chen at 10:00am, Saturday, October 12th at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, 415 W. Austin Ave. in Port Lavaca. Burial will follow at Port Lavaca City Cemetery where Lucindo will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Amada. Honoring Lucindo pallbearers will be Eric Escobar, Brandon Escobar, Ernest A. Velasquez, Sam Escobar, Carlos Costilla and Joe Luna. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Allison, Jeremy Velasquez, Gavin Escobar and Steve Escobar.

Lucindo was born June 25th, 1936 in Cuero, Texas to the late Vicente and Angelita Garcia Escobar. Lucindo married his love, Amada Soloya, May 29th, 1961. He spent most of his life in the Port Lavaca area. He worked for over 30 years as a Cement Truck Driver, hauling cement all around the Coastal Bend area. Lucindo enjoyed working with his hands and building things. In later years he loved working crossword puzzles and could work just about any puzzle that was put in front of him. Lucindo was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Angelita Escobar; his brother, Roberto Escobar, Sr.; sisters, Maria Costilla and Demencia Rodriguez; and wife of over 50 years, Amada Soloya Escobar, who passed away in 2011.

Lucindo leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lucindo Escobar, Jr. of Victoria, Norma Ann Escobar and her fiancé, Arthur Allison of Victoria and Ronnie Luis Escobar and his wife, Cristina of Mission; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
