Mario Alonzo Garcia, Sr., 59, loving father and grandfather, passed away June 20th, 2019.
A memorial service celebrating Mario’s life will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy. in Victoria.
Mario was born June 3, 1960 in Reynosa, Mexico to the late José Gonzalo and Maria Santana Garcia. Mario enjoyed being outdoors and fishing, spending time with his family and he deeply loved his grandchildren. His trucks AKA his “man toys”, were also favorite past times. Mario was very proud of the time he spent teaching his children the art of boxing, he was an excellent coach. He was very proud to tell folks of his son, Tony, winning his “Golden Glove” and his son, Nicholas, winning his “MMA Belt”. Mario was steadfast in his support to family and will be deeply missed.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Gonzalo and Maria Garcia; his brothers, Ernesto Garcia, Sr. and Juan “Chalo” Garcia; nephew, Ernesto Garcia, Jr. and great niece, Valentina Rosales.
Mario leaves to cherish his memory his six loving children, Mario A. Garcia, Jr. and wife, Shanna, Tony Garcia and companion, Jamie Mull, Nicholas Garcia and wife, Ashley, Jaime Garcia and companion, Jayda Flores, Amanda Stewart and husband, Christopher, and Ashley Garcia and companion Manny Palacios, Jr.; the mother of his children; his three beloved nieces that he helped raise, Kenya Rodriguez, Haydee Rosales, and Liz Garcia-Ramirez; 24 grandchildren; 6 siblings; 10 great nieces and nephews; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
Memorial donations in Mario’s memory may be made to Grace Funeral Home to assist with funeral arrangements.
