A very special thank you to Dr. Whitehouse for his steadfast care over Myrtle. Having diagnosed her with cancer over 25 years ago and recommending treatment in Houston, he saved her life. Dr Whitehouse visited many times over the last few months and was a constant pillar of support for the family while Myrtle was at Citizens and Hospice.
We would also like to thank Dr. Ty Meyer who made it possible for Myrtle’s final days to be surrounded by loved ones in the beautiful grounds at The Hospice of South Texas Dornburg Center of Compassion. Special thanks to the nurses and aides on the skilled nursing floor at Citizens Medical Center as well as Dr. Gorouhi and his team who have cared for Myrtle over the last 5 years. Special appreciation to the following that were always willing to stay by Myrtle’s side during her stay at Citizens and Hospice: Betty King, Ray and Sherry Vick, Jim and Debi Green, Norbis Stringham, Brittany Bailey and Kelley Meztler. Lastly, we would like to thank Bertie Gabbert who spent countless number of hours with Myrtle while she was in and out of the hospital as well at home.
