Sandra Gayle Kalmus, 75, passed away on Thursday, April 9th, 2020. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 15th at 10:00am at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8819 US Hwy 87 North in Victoria.

Sandra was born June 21st, 1944 to the late Basil and Ruby Phillips. She married August Kalmus, Sr. on April 23rd, 1962 and they had six children. She loved crocheting. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is now with her loving husband, August, once again.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, August William Kalmus, Sr.; her parents; sons, August William Kalmus, Jr. and Michael Kalmus, Sr.; grandson, August "Peanut" Smalley; sisters, Brenda Ray, Karen Eilene Phillips, Amber Lynn Phillips, Sharon Dunsmore and Geneva Kay Thomas; and brother, Charles Edward Phillips.

Sandra is survived by her children, Belinda Young (Jimmy), Ronda Carroll (Robert), Donna France (Richard, Sr.), and Debra Braun (Sean); sister, Susan Gammon; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.

The family requests any memorial donations be sent to Hospice of South Texas.

    Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive Order No. GA-08 relating to COVID-19. In accordance with the President and the CDC he made Order No. 1 which stated: “In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, every person in Texas shall avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people.” Only 10 People at a time will be allowing in the at the grave. Others may come to the cemetery but MUST remain in their automobiles.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy and most sincerely condolences to the Kalmus family. Sandra was indeed a fine and friendly lady whom I respected very much. Rest in peace Sandra and greet August with love as you two reunite once again.
