Obituary

TSgt James Stewart Auld, Retired USAF, 80, formerly of Port Lavaca passed away on July 8, 2019 after a four-year battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and is now in his heavenly home, healed and joyfully visiting with those family members and friends that have gone before him.

TSgt Auld is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Joan, his sons Gary Auld (Yolanda), Jason Lindegren (Shannon) and Jeremy Lindegren (Rose Marie), his brother Robert Auld (Rita) , sister Penny Gallagher, nephew Bill Auld (Karen), sister-in-law June Worrell, nine grandchildren: Timothy Auld, Christopher Auld, Jacob Lindegren, Candace (Princess) Lindegren, Elijah Lindegren, Levi Lindegren, Seth Lindegren, Drew Lindegren and Mia Lindegren, as well as two great granddaughters Aubrey and Kai Lindegren and his best four legged friend Dulce.

TSgt Auld was preceded in death by his parents William Auld and Charlotte Conn, Brother-in-law Joe Gallagher, Brother-in-Law Phil Worrell and his son Gerald Auld.

TSgt Auld was a member of the American Legion Post 167, Port Lavaca, Samoyed Club of America, Charter member of the Samoyed Club of Austin, and the Noonday Lions Club. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years for the homebound in Calhoun County.

TSgt Auld had a passion for 50’s music (Class of ’57) as well as lighthouses as he and his wife traveled the country to visit well over 300 lighthouses before his health began to fail him.

A celebration of life will be held on July 27th at the First United Methodist Church in Port Lavaca beginning at 1 PM with Military honors under the auspices of Calhoun County Combined Honor Guard. The family requests (optional) that you wear Casual attire, 50’s attire, Hawaiian attire, beach attire, waders – or whatever your heart desires! Jim would want this time together to be a happy time! A reception in the Fellowship Hall will immediately follow the service.

Arrangements under the direction of Grace Funeral Home.
