He was a veteran of WWII where he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Valenta was a third generation native Texan born Sunday, October 18, 1925 in Taylor, Texas to Louis and Albina (Leshikar) Valenta. In high school, he played on the Taylor Ducks state championship football team. Upon graduation at 17, he joined the US Navy and served on a sub tender in the Pacific theater.
